As we approach the holidays, I find myself thinking about Curt and his family. After a plaque dedication at Culver City High School, I had the opportunity to speak with Melody. Her strength, beauty, and grace were undeniable, and it was obvious to me that Curt had made a wonderful choice for his life partner. Curt always made good choices, and that is what he attempted to convey to the students that we worked with. Life is beautiful, but short, and should never be taken for granted. Curt lived everyday with enthusiasm, integrity, and love; true indicators of an actualized human being. I find myself visiting his memorial on our campus and reminding myself how we all need to follow Curt's example and passion. The people that we lose will live on as long as they are in our thoughts and prayers. We need to pass their wisdom and insight on to others, especially the children. Finding men like Curt is difficult at best, and I hope his kids understand how special their dad was, and how proud he was of them. As the first anniversery of Curt's passing approaches, I am reminded of the importance of being a good father, husband, and member of the community; lessons that Curt exemplified each and every day. Much love to Melody, the children, and anyone who was fortunate enough to be in Curt's company. Steve Gyepes, Counselor CCHS
